Lana Vento Charitable Trust

If you are one of the 100’s of thousands of hikers that use the Tahoe Rim Trail, the next time you’re on the trail, please stop at one of our trailhead kiosks.  At each trailhead kiosk you can collect a brochure about the Tahoe Rim Trail, enjoy the interpretive story of the local area or study the map panel to find your location or decide your next destination. 

Then take a moment to thank the Lana Vento Charitable Trust for their generous support of the mission of the TRTA.  The Vento family has been one of TRTA’s top donors including an “Adopt-a-Vista’ above Incline Village.  Dick and Lana Vento as well as the other members of the board of the Lana Vento Charitable Trust have visited and lived in the Lake Tahoe region for many years. 

“It was our intent, which proved successful, to educate the trail users about the environment to which they came to explore on the Tahoe Rim Trail.  We hope that those who come to places as beautiful as Lake Tahoe will be able to appreciate and visit these places for the rest of their lives, and share them with future generations”.

The Lana Vento Charitable Trust has made it possible for the TRTA to place a kiosk at each of our sixteen trailheads as a way to educate the trail user about the story of the Tahoe Rim Trail, the flora and fauna of the area, and to provide information on safety, trail etiquette, Leave No Trace ethics and local history.   And, this information helps the trail user to have a safe and unique outdoor experience on the Tahoe Rim Trail.   

The Board of the Tahoe Rim Trail Association thanks the Lana Vento Charitable Trust for their generous support of the Tahoe Rim Trail Association and “a trail like no other”.
