National Trails Day

American Hiking Society’s National Trails Day (NTD) is a nationwide celebration of trails that promotes awareness of healthy and active lifestyles and encourages individuals to discover their local trails. The Tahoe Rim Trail Association is a proud supporter of NTD and looks forward to having 2017 be one of its best years yet! Take a look here for a complete listing of National Trails Day events taking place all over the country.

How can I get involved?

This year we have two fun ways to join in on the action!

Celebrate the kick-off to the trail season

Join us at Spooner Lake State Park from 9:00am to 3:00pm for a fun filled day celebrating all things trails. This FREE event is open to the public and will have scheduled workshops throughout the day. Bring the family and hit the nearby trails or sign up for one of our guided hikes! Learn a new skill by taking an orienteering session or taste backcountry cuisine. Consider learning how to fix a flat or test your Leave No Trace skills. There will be booths, raffle prizes, trail building demos, and more so don’t miss out. Registration is now open

Volunteer for the biggest workday of the year

The TRTA, the Tahoe Area Mountain Biking Association, and the Biggest Little Trail Stewardship are teaming up and hosting a massive workday on the Thomas Creek Trail near Galena Regional Park to make repairs after a rough winter of wash outs and flooding. Click here for more details. Registration opens soon!

Thank You National Trails Day Supporters!
