Trail Fest 2009

Trail Fest, in partnership with Alpenglow Sports, will be held in the heart of Tahoe City at Commons Beach, and will start at 9 am with guided hikes, mountain bike rides , kayaking, paddleboarding and a trail run, and will continue to 3 pm with live music by Downbeat, Drop Theory and Jim Baldwin, beer provided by New Belgium Brewing and an outdoor BBQ cooked up by Smokey's. Throughout the day there will be a an outdoor equipment expo with more than 25 vendors featuring merchandise such as Mountain Hardware, Jet Boil, Salomon, MSR, Chaco, Lowe Alpine and many more.

Youth Backcountry Camps 2009


This summer, the Tahoe Rim Trail Association in partnership with Sierra Nevada Journeys will be offering four sessions of our three-day, two-night Youth Backcountry Camps.  These camps are intended to engage high school youth in a true wilderness experience and a service learning project on the Tahoe Rim Trail.

Dates:

  • Session 1: July 13-15th
  • Session 2: July 16-18th
  • Session 3: July 19-21st

Each camp has the capacity for 12 students and will be fully supported by TRTA and SNJ staff.  The cost for the program is $99 (scholarships are available).  Participants are provided with all necessary camping gear and food for the program.  Participants only need appropriate footwear and a passion for the outdoors!
