Tahoe Rim Trail Crew Leaders

Each summer Tahoe Rim Trail Crew Leaders schedule and implement a full season of trail building, maintenance and management projects. Crew Leaders facilitate everything from safety briefings to technical trail building projects. Crew Leaders take on progressive levels of responsibility as they develop experience. New Crew Leaders train under more experienced volunteers and take responsibility for small groups during project work days. Senior Crew Leaders develop projects, oversee large groups of volunteers and provide technical expertise and training. A select few Master Trail Builders oversee major projects and work in partnership with agencies and other organizations to bring ideas for new trail connections into reality. All TRTA Crew Leaders are also invited to join our Trail Operations Committee which provides leadership for the Trail Operations Program at the TRTA and makes key decisions regarding which projects to undertake, plans trainings, and tackles a wide variety of trail management issues.
