This will be a moderate leisurely snowshoe trek. However\, it could be more challenging if snow levels are deep. Along the way\, our experts and friends at the Sugar Pine Foundation will reveal the mysterious world of trees and what individuals are doing to help the different species persevere for future generations. SUMMARY:Winter Wildlife Survival Snowshoe Hike with TINS
DESCRIPTION:[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text css=””] \nDescription\nJoin us for a snowshoe excursion and educational session hosted by TINS and the TRTA. Spend the morning hiking amid high-elevation pine forests on Tahoe’s East Shore at Spooner Lake State Park. We will take breaks periodically to learn about Tahoe’s forest ecology while identifying trees and animals that live amongst the Lodgepole Pines. We will go as fast as the slowest member of the group and can make adjustments along the way. Our route will not have steep hills and stays at 7000′ elevation. This hike is great for beginners and is appropriate for ages 12 and up. \nYou will need to purchase a $10 Day Use Parking Pass to park at Spooner Lake State Park. \nWhat to Expect\nTRTA/TINS treks are group treks\, and we do our best to keep the group together. All trek leaders dedicate a great deal of their time throughout the year\, sharing their passion for the outdoors. They are well-trained and experienced.
