This can include leading small breakout groups\, ensuring all safety protocols are followed\, responding to any incidents within your crew\, and helping create a positive\, rewarding experience for every volunteer on site. \nWhat is Crew Leader Training?\nCrew Leader Training takes place over two days and includes: \n\nAn in-class session covering leadership basics\, trail building standards\, and safety procedures\nHands-on trail building experience\nA light breakfast\, refreshments\, and lunch\n\nAfter completing the training\, you will be prepared to: \n\nAssist workday leaders by supporting small groups and sharing knowledge of trail building\, TRTA standards\, and safety practices\nGrow into planning and leading a workday in partnership with staff and fellow Crew Leaders if you choose\nEarn additional certifications such as Wilderness First Aid\, crosscut\, and chainsaw\n\nWhy does the TRTA need Crew Leaders? \nWith over 200 miles in the Tahoe Rim Trail system\, it truly takes a community of volunteers to care for these trails. Crew Leaders are pivotal in identifying needs\, supporting volunteers\, and facilitating successful workdays.
