SUMMARY:Exploration Echo Snowshoe Trek with Sugar Pine Foundation 2.0
DESCRIPTION:[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text] \nDescription\nThe Sugar Pine Foundation (SPF) and the Tahoe Rim Trail Association (TRTA) have teamed up for an afternoon snowshoe trek to Echo Lake. This trek will be a leisurely snowshoe from the Echo Lake Sno-Park (Johnson Pass Rd) to Lower Echo Lake (however\, it could be more challenging if snow levels are deep). Along the way\, our experts and friends at the Sugar Pine Foundation will reveal the mysterious world of trees and touch on the effects of the Caldor Fire. We will have lunch at the old lodge\, so please remember to bring lunch and snacks. Our destination provides great photo opportunities of Lower Echo Lake and the surrounding mountains of glacial moraine carved out millennia ago. \nWhat to Expect\nTRTA/SPF treks are group treks\, and we do our best to keep the group together. Trip leaders dedicate a great deal of their time throughout the year\, sharing their passion for the outdoors. They are well-trained and experienced. Please respect the decisions made on the trail. \nCOVID-19 Policy\nA COVID-19 screening will be conducted at the trailhead. Do not attempt to join if you have experienced any COVID-19 symptoms as outlined by the Center for Disease Control within 10 days of the trek: shortness of breath or difficulty breathing\, fever\, chills\, muscle pain\, sore throat\, loss of taste\, or smell. \nCost\nYour $5 reservation fee is non-refundable. Each vehicle must arrive with a Sno-Park parking permit to park at the meeting location. You can purchase a $15-day permit or $40 season permit online here or at several Sno-Park permit vendors found here.[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text] \n\n\n[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/4″][vc_column_text] \nDifficulty\nModerate \n[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/4″][vc_column_text] \nDistance\n~4 miles roundtrip \n[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/4″][vc_column_text] \nLocation\nEcho Lake Sno-Park \n[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/4″][vc_column_text] \nTime\n9:00 AM to ~1:00 PM \n[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text] \n\n\nWhat to Bring\n[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_column_text] \n\nLunch!\nWater (~one liter per person)\nSnacks\nInsulating clothes – we suggest a wicking layer to go against your skin\nWarm fleece-type layer\nWindbreaker/ warm jacket\nWaterproof pants\nExtra layers\nWinter hat and gloves\nAppropriate footwear\nExtra pair of dry socks\n\n[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_column_text] \n\nExtra pair of dry socks\nSnowshoes (let us know if you need to borrow a set)\nTrekking poles (optional but let us know if you need to borrow a pair)\nLip Balm (≥ SPF 15+)\nSunscreen\nSunglasses\nHat\nCamera (optional)\nPersonal Medications/Epi-Pen*\n*Be sure to communicate any medical issues in a private conversation with your guides at the trailhead.\n\n[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text] \n\n\n[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_column_text] \nCheck out more about our wonderful partners at the:\n[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_column_text] \nFor more information about the trek\, contact kadenb@tahoerimtrail.org.\n[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][vc_empty_space height=”55px”][vc_btn title=”Register Here!” color=”primary” align=”center” i_icon_fontawesome=”fas fa-snowflake” button_block=”true” add_icon=”true” link=”url:https%3A%2F%2Ftahoerimtrail.my.salesforce-sites.com%2FCnP_PaaS_EVT__ExternalRegistrationPage%3Fevent_id%3Da244T000004oOe2QAE%26|target:_blank”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][/vc_column][/vc_row]
