SUMMARY:Photo Snowshoe
DESCRIPTION:[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text css=””]Description \nTake in the change from winter to spring and immerse yourself\, and your camera\, in the new season! Join our photo expert Sharell Katibah to learn the basics of nature photography and how to get the most out of your photos. Grab your camera (fancy or not\, smartphones work too!) and get on the trail with us to capture the seasonal transition through your own lens. This adventure will be a leisurely snowshoe from the Echo Lake Sno-Park (Johnson Pass Rd) to Lower Echo Lake (however\, it could be more challenging if snow levels are deep). If there’s enough snow\, the TRTA can provide you snowshoes and poles for no additional fee. \n  \nWhat to Expect \nFor the weather forecast in this area\, check out this link to the NOAA website. \nTRTA treks are group treks\, and we do our best to keep the group together. All TRTA guides dedicate a great deal of their time throughout the year sharing their passion for the outdoors. They are well-trained and experienced. Please respect the decisions made on the trail. \nIt is also critical that you sign up for a trek that is appropriate for you and your skill set. This request is for the safety of you\, the group\, and our leadership. Read the trek description carefully\, and sign up for treks that you are capable of participating in and can enjoy. \n  \nCost \nYour $10 reservation fee is non-refundable. Each vehicle must arrive with a Sno-Park parking permit to park at the meeting location. You can purchase a $15-day permit or $40 season permit online here or at several Sno-Park permit vendors found here.[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/4″][vc_column_text css=””] \nDifficulty\neasy-moderate \n[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/4″][vc_column_text css=””] \nDistance\n~3 miles roundtrip \n[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/4″][vc_column_text css=””] \nLocation\nEcho Lake Sno Park[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/4″][vc_column_text css=””] \nTime\n9:00 AM to 12:00 PM \n[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_empty_space][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_column_text css=””]What to Bring \n\nWater (~one liter per person)\nSnacks\nInsulating clothes – we suggest a wicking layer to go against your skin\nWarm fleece-type layer\nWindbreaker/ warm jacket\nWaterproof pants\nExtra layers\nWinter hat and gloves\nAppropriate footwear\nExtra pair of dry socks\nSnowshoes (can be borrowed from TRTA)\nTrekking poles (can be borrowed from TRTA)\nLip Balm (≥ SPF 15+)\nSunscreen\nSunglasses\nCamera (smart phones are welcome!)\nPersonal Medications/Epi-Pen*\n\n*Communicate any medical issues in a private conversation with your guides at the trailhead.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_btn title=”Register now!” color=”primary” align=”left” css=”” link=”url:https%3A%2F%2Ftahoerimtrail.my.salesforce-sites.com%2F%2FCnP_PaaS_EVT__ExternalRegistrationPage%3Fevent_id%3Da24Un000008iYZFIA2%26|target:_blank”][vc_column_text css=””]Leave No Trace \nWe practice the seven Leave No Trace (LNT) principles on each of our programs. SUMMARY:Exploration Echo Snowshoe Trek with Sugar Pine Foundation 2.0
DESCRIPTION:[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text] \nDescription\nThe Sugar Pine Foundation (SPF) and the Tahoe Rim Trail Association (TRTA) have teamed up for an afternoon snowshoe trek to Echo Lake. This trek will be a leisurely snowshoe from the Echo Lake Sno-Park (Johnson Pass Rd) to Lower Echo Lake (however\, it could be more challenging if snow levels are deep). Along the way\, our experts and friends at the Sugar Pine Foundation will reveal the mysterious world of trees and touch on the effects of the Caldor Fire. We will have lunch at the old lodge\, so please remember to bring lunch and snacks. Our destination provides great photo opportunities of Lower Echo Lake and the surrounding mountains of glacial moraine carved out millennia ago. \nWhat to Expect\nTRTA/SPF treks are group treks\, and we do our best to keep the group together. Trip leaders dedicate a great deal of their time throughout the year\, sharing their passion for the outdoors. They are well-trained and experienced. Please respect the decisions made on the trail. \nCOVID-19 Policy\nA COVID-19 screening will be conducted at the trailhead. Do not attempt to join if you have experienced any COVID-19 symptoms as outlined by the Center for Disease Control within 10 days of the trek: shortness of breath or difficulty breathing\, fever\, chills\, muscle pain\, sore throat\, loss of taste\, or smell. \nCost\nYour $5 reservation fee is non-refundable. Each vehicle must arrive with a Sno-Park parking permit to park at the meeting location.
