Together\, our organizations collaborate to offer engaging educational experiences along the Tahoe Rim Trail and throughout the Basin. \nCome meet the western white pine—a towering emblem of the American West\, distinguished by its soft needles and stately presence. This remarkable tree is more than just a forest giant; it’s a resilient survivor\, facing threats from logging\, urban development\, and the challenges of a changing climate. An introduced fungus has devastated many western white pines west of the Cascades\, making Tahoe a vital stronghold for this majestic species. \nJoin tree specialist Edric Alvarez as he shares the Sugar Pine Foundation’s efforts to protect and restore the western white pine.
