Additional parking exists near the paved road if folks do not wish to take their vehicle down a dirt road.  Folks will show up Friday evening and start work on Saturday morning.   Meals will be prepared by a camp cook and all meals will be provided. Please bring your own camping gear. This camp is rated moderate but only because all trail work and camping requires using tools and getting dirty.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_empty_space][vc_column_text] \nPlease email  KristineK@tahoerimtrail.org if you have any questions.\nSchedule\nParticipants will meet Friday at 3:30 near the entrance of Spooner Lake State Park. We’ll caravan to our campsite near the worksite. We’ll camp for two nights\, spending Saturday and half of Sunday working on the Sand Harbor Vista Trail near Marlette Peak Campground. \nWhat to Bring\nAll volunteers must dress appropriately for each day of work\, including long-sleeved shirts\, long pants\, and sturdy\, closed-toe shoes. You should also bring everything you need for three days and two nights\, including camping and cooking gear\, warm clothes\, etc. Plan to bring containers (water bottles\, bladders\, etc.) for at least 3 liters of water\, sunglasses or other eye protection\, sunscreen\, medications\, and other personal items you’ll need. Don’t have all the fancy stuff? Just let us know; we have the gear to loan out. The TRTA will provide breakfast\, lunch\, and dinner\, experienced crew leaders\, tools\, and required safety equipment such as hard hats and gloves. \n\nWho to Bring\nCamping gear\, but this camp does not require previous camping experience. This is an appropriate opportunity for people looking to spend their first night in a tent. Minors aged 16+ are welcome as long as a parent or legal guardian accompanies them. To be put on a notification list for updates on this camp\, please email your interest to KristineK@tahoerimtrail.org.\n  \nWhat to Expect\nThis is a trail crew Backcountry Camp\, and requires camping in a remote setting without access to personal vehicles\, though vehicles will transport personal gear to the campsite. Cell phone reception is spotty or non-existent. There is no access to running water or electricity. Meals will be prepared by volunteer camp chefs. This camp is rated Moderately Strenuous.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_empty_space][vc_column_text] \nSchedule\nWe’ll meet on the afternoon of Thursday\, July 2nd at Spooner Lake and/or in Washoe Valley and shuttle participants into Marlette Campground. Everyone will set up their tents\, enjoy a dinner prepared by our fantastic volunteer camp chefs\, and receive a project orientation. For the next three days we’ll wake around 7AM for a delicious\, hot\, freshly prepared breakfast before getting our gear together to hike with tools to the work sites (less than 2 miles from the camp). We’ll work from 9AM to 4PM with a big break for lunch and  plenty of water breaks. A prepared snack will await us on our return to camp followed by dinner and great company. We’ll have our pick of numerous vantage points to watch fireworks after dark and should be able to see multiple displays from around the lake to celebrate July 4th together. We’ll break camp on the morning of Sunday\, July 5th and quit work early in the afternoon so we have plenty of time to shuttle everyone back to their vehicles before the end of the day. \nPlease note! Our camp and work site are at high elevation\, approximately 8300 feet. If you will be traveling from low elevations or are not accustomed to strenuous activity at high elevation we recommend you arrive in the Tahoe area several days in advance to acclimate to local conditions. \nWhat to Bring\nAll volunteers are required to dress appropriately for each day of work including long sleeved shirts\, long pants\, and sturdy\, closed-toe shoes. You should also bring containers for at least 3 liters of water\, sunglasses or other eye protection\, sunscreen\, any medications\, camping gear\, and other equipment to be comfortable in camp. Adults that bring youth participants are responsible for their supervision at all times.
