SUMMARY:Member Hike (Relay Peak)
DESCRIPTION:[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text css=””]This is a TRTA Member exclusive event! If you aren’t already a member\, sign up here. \nEnjoy the Tahoe Rim Trail’s highest point without the uphill climb (but you don’t have to tell your friends that)! We will meet at the Mt. Rose Trailhead at 9 A.M. and shuttle to the top of Relay Ridge via a Forest Service road. From there\, we will hike to Mt. Houghton and back\, which will be about 2 miles round trip with a little over 300 ft. of climbing toward the summit of Mt. Houghton. This trek begins and ends above 10\,000 ft.\, so be sure that you can hike at high altitude. The sweeping ridgeline views will show you why the TRT is called “a trail like no other”! \n  \nPlease follow this link to view the elevation profile for this hike and register. \n  \n [/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_single_image image=”20445″ img_size=”large” alignment=”center” css=””][/vc_column][/vc_row]

SUMMARY:Exploration Series with TINS: Galena Falls Wildflower Hike
DESCRIPTION:[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text css=””] \nDescription\nJoin the Tahoe Rim Trail Association (TRTA) guides and nonprofit partner Tahoe Institute for Natural Science (TINS) for an alpine hike to Galena Falls in the Mount Rose Wilderness to enjoy the beauty of mountain wildflowers at the peak of their summer bloom. The TRTA is the primary steward of the Tahoe Rim Trail system\, and TINS is a valuable ecological stewardship organization and community education provider. Together\, our organizations collaborate to provide educational experiences in this Autumn Exploration Series across the Tahoe Rim Trail and throughout the Basin. \nNaturalist Sarah Hockensmith will lead the group along the trail and teach you all about local wildflowers and the animals that rely on them to survive. Bring your camera for this event and get ready to enjoy nature’s colorful show! \nWhat to Expect\nFor the weather forecast in this area\, check out this link to the NOAA website. \nTRTA/TINS treks are group treks\, and we do our best to keep the group together. All TRTA guides and TINS staff dedicate a great deal of their time throughout the year sharing their passion for the outdoors. They are well-trained and experienced. Please respect the decisions made on the trail. \nIt is also critical that you sign up for a trek that is appropriate for you and your skill set. This request is for the safety of you\, the group\, and our leadership.
