Summer Exploration Series with TINS: Botany and Birds

June 28 @ 9:00 am - 12:00 pm

Cost: Free

guided hike in lake tahoe

Description

Join the Tahoe Rim Trail Association (TRTA) guides and nonprofit partner Tahoe Institute for Natural Science (TINS) naturalist, Sarah Hockensmith, on a stroll at Page Meadows in search of mountain wildflowers and birds on Tahoe’s West Shore. The TRTA is the primary steward of the Tahoe Rim Trail system, and TINS is a valuable ecological stewardship organization and community education provider. Together, our organizations collaborate to provide educational experiences across the Tahoe Rim Trail and throughout the Basin.

Learn how to identify our local favorites and build your birding repertoire. Be prepared for quiet bird observation as the opportunity arises during the hike. This event will start at 9:00 AM and we will wander around the meadows of Tahoe City in search of plants and all things nature. Expect to walk between two and three miles. We hope to see you there!

What to Expect

TRTA outings are group outings, and we do our best to keep the group together. Trip leaders dedicate much of their time throughout the year, sharing their passion for the outdoors. They are well-trained and experienced. Please respect their decisions made on the trail.
