New 2-Year Emergency Training
In an effort to improve the TRTA’s Outdoor Program Risk Management protocols, Emergency Communication and Incident Management Training is now a stand alone training. This new course will include a large amount of time dedicated to hands-on emergency scenarios.
This course will review the following:
- Planning and preparing
- Conducting a morning guide huddle and participant trailhead talk
- Guide Packet contents
- Incident leadership roles
- Communications and radio operation
- Emergency protocols and procedures
- Hands-on practice with in-depth scenarios

- June 12, 8:30am – 4pm
- Boulder Lodge (Heavenly) parking lot near the top of Kingsbury Grade at 140 S Benjamin Dr, Stateline, NV 89449
- Lunch, drinks included
- Please bring: your guide packets, clothing appropriate for being outside all day (layers, sunglasses, sunscreen, hat, etc.), water bottle, and snacks.
- Note- There are no bathroom facilities at the Boulder Lodge. We will bring poop kits and also allow time to drive to the Kingsbury North Trailhead to use those facilities if your personal situation deems necessary at breaks.
