Forest History Snowshoe Trek with Sugar Pine Foundation

March 10 @ 9:00 am - 12:00 pm

Cost: $10

Guided Snowshoe Trek on the Tahoe Rim Trail in Lake Tahoe

Description

We have partnered with the Sugar Pine Foundation (SPF) to deliver a leisurely snowshoe trek around Spooner Lake. However, it could be more challenging if snow levels are deep. Along the way, our experts and friends at the Sugar Pine Foundation will talk about the natural and cultural history of the forest, including everything from historic logging to modern-day fire impression techniques. Come and learn why our forest looks the way it does and what the future holds.

What to Expect

TRTA/SPF treks are group treks, and we do our best to keep the group together. Trip leaders dedicate a great deal of their time throughout the year sharing their passion for the outdoors. They are well-trained and experienced. Please respect the decisions made on the trail.

Do not attempt to join if you have experienced any COVID-19 symptoms as outlined by the Center for Disease Control within 10 days of the trek: shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, fever, chills, muscle pain, sore throat, loss of taste, or smell.
