Description
Join the Tahoe Rim Trail Association (TRTA) guides and partner Tahoe Institute for Natural Science (TINS) on a stroll from Brockway Summit on Highway 267 along the Tahoe Rim Trail to Picnic Rock with trained naturalists. The TRTA is the primary steward of the Tahoe Rim Trail system, and TINS is a valuable ecological stewardship organization and community education provider. Together, our organizations collaborate to provide educational experiences across the Tahoe Rim Trail and throughout the Basin.
TINS naturalist Will Richardson leads the way in search of wildlife, wildflowers, and spectacular scenery along the Tahoe Rim Trail. Enjoy nature’s treasures before soaking up the great views of Lake Tahoe on the north shore. We will discuss natural history topics related to geology, forest ecology, birds, and anything Nature in Tahoe! Bring your binoculars and inquisitive minds for this nature ramble with TRTA and TINS. Exact mileage will be determined by the group’s pace and interest in hiking over observing, but will not exceed 4 miles during this event. We will gain 750′ from the cars, so come prepared to hike uphill.
What to Expect
TRTA outings are group outings, and we do our best to keep the group together. Trip leaders dedicate much of their time throughout the year, sharing their passion for the outdoors. They are well-trained and experienced. Please respect their decisions made on the trail.
