Guided Snowshoe Hikes in Lake Tahoe

Description

Discover the wonders of winter during a fun and educational snowshoe trek to Picnic Rock. This excursion will take you through pine forests until you reach scenic vistas of Lake Tahoe. While being guided by trained TRTA Guides, TINS naturalist Sarah Hockensmith will discuss winter ecology concepts, falcons, and geology in the Basin. This three-mile, moderately difficult, out-and-back hike is family-friendly and appropriate for ages 12 and up.

What to Expect

TRTA/TINS hikes are group hikes, and we do our best to keep the group together. Trip leaders dedicate a great deal of their time throughout the year, sharing their passion for the outdoors. They are well-trained and experienced. Please respect the decisions made on the trail.
