Whether you are looking to complete the entire Tahoe Rim Trail, or simply get a little fresh air for an afternoon, we have you covered. All hikes are guided by well-trained TRTA Volunteer Guides and offer a variety of end goals from learning a new wildflower to hiking the entire Tahoe Rim Trail in a summer. Let’s take a hike! Please note, that the TRTA does not offer guided horseback rides.

Recent cuts to funding and layoffs of National Park and Forest Service employees are putting our public lands at risk — including the Tahoe Rim Trail. Fewer staff means fewer resources to help maintain trails, manage wildfire prevention efforts, and protect the delicate ecosystems that make the Tahoe Rim Trail so special.
These cuts don’t just impact the trail today — they jeopardize its future. Without critical maintenance and oversight, everything from trail safety to wildfire response is compromised, leaving our forests, wildlife, and trail users more vulnerable than ever.
But there’s still hope — and it starts with us.
