Trail Season Kick Off

Each year people all across the country set out on trails in celebration of American Hiking Society’s National Trails Day. In joining the effort on National Trails Day, the Tahoe Rim Trail Association is rallying together to host three great ways you can get outdoors to steward your favorite trail. Together our trail community will be improving 2.5 miles of trail, packing out trash, and learning about the impacts of a wildfire zone. Check out below for more information and how to get in on the action.

Take a Hike to a Waterfall

The Tahoe Rim Trail Association and the Sugar Pine Foundation are teaming up for a morning hike up through Van Sickle Bi-State Park. This educational opportunity will teach you about the history of the area and discuss nearby flora all the while enjoying panoramic vistas up to a waterfall. Volunteer: South Shore

The TRTA and TAMBA need your help cleaning up the South Shore! A local spot known as Party Rock, a trail connection into Van Sickle Bi-State Park has been ravaged by graffiti and litter. Volunteers are needed June 2 on National Trails Day to clean up the area and restore it back to its natural landscape. There will be a job for everyone so spread the word to your friends and family. Advanced registration is encouraged. Click here to signup.

Volunteer: North Shore

Volunteer for the first workday of the year! Help make critical repairs to the symbolic starting point at mile marker zero. On the North Shore volunteers are needed to work at the Tahoe City Trailhead. Work will include rebuilding drainage features, installing signs, and making upgrades to the trailhead.
