Lindsey Schultz has been a key part of the Tahoe Rim Trail Association for 13 years and now has become its leader moving forward.

After the recent departure of the previous Executive Director, Morgan Steel, in May of 2024, Lindsey stepped in as Interim Executive Director of the organization. With her deep connection to the Tahoe Basin and its community, The TRTA could ask for no one better to fill Morgan’s shoes.  Below Justin Knowles, our Board President, describes the transition, and how the TRTA is looking forward to a bright and exciting future with Lindsey at the helm.

“In a recent TRTA executive session, the board voted unanimously to elevate Lindsey to be the permanent Executive Director of the TRTA (from the Interim Executive Director role).  Lindsey is a proven leader with significant experience, understands the organization & the trail, and serves as a recognized leader in the Tahoe Basin. She has exemplified her leadership this summer by leading the organization and having many new staff members on board. We are so fortunate to have such an experienced resource within the TRTA to lead the organization into this next phase.

As a board, we are excited for the board to more closely partner with the staff and support Lindsey in strengthening the connection between the board and staff. The unanimous board vote signals our full support of her leadership, and we couldn’t be more proud.

Congratulations Lindsey!

It takes a village to make the TRTA successful.  Thank you for all of your continued efforts to help the organization enhance the Tahoe Rim Trail system, practice and inspire stewardship, and preserve access to the natural beauty of the Lake Tahoe region.

We look forward to seeing you on the trail.

Cheers,

Justin”
