The Tahoe Rim Trail Association is hosting a two-day Wilderness First Aid (WFA) course taught by NOLS Wilderness Medicine. This course will provide individuals with a foundation in important first aid concepts critical to responding effectively to emergencies in a remote backcountry environment.
This course will teach you one of the most basic and essential outdoor skills- navigation without relying on a battery in the winter. The birth of the smart phone and personal global positioning systems (GPS) have not outdated the centuries old skill of navigation by map and compass. The earth’s magnetic field will never run out of battery.
