The Trail Challenge encourages hikers, bikers, and equestrians to complete recreational challenges on the Tahoe Rim Trail and it’s system to inspire a more active, healthier lifestyle. You get the maps and info and go on your own time at your own pace.
The Trail Challenge has inspired community members to become their own Tahoe Rim Trail guide since 2012. It’s a great way for novice or seasoned trail users to discover or re-discover trails and access points found on the Tahoe Rim Trail and it’s system. Challenge routes range from easy to difficult within 3 to 15 miles. Each route will offer something special, we promise! Gather your friends, family members, co-workers, or four-legged pals and go explore unforgettable sections of the trail together!
Trail Blazers, expect routes between 1-7 miles that are easy to moderate. Trail Explorers, routes will be anywhere from 8-13 miles and are a bit more strenuous. Whichever route you select the scenery will not disappoint! Challengers can choose to either hike, bike, or ride the challenges (note: some routes may limit the use of bikes or horses). After completion, track your accomplishments and check the leaderboard for your standings.
As a challenger, you are invited to join the exclusive Tahoe Rim Trail Challenge Facebook Group. This page is a great way to share your accomplishments, get updates on trail conditions, and make new friends.
Bonus Challenges are a fun way to add a little extra excitement while you are exploring your six selected challenge sites. These extra challenges are designed to help you further the mission of the Tahoe Rim Trail Association of inspiring stewards and preserving the trail. Bonus challenges can be tracked on your challenge tracking form.
