Youth Programs Mission

Engage, Educate, Empower

The Tahoe Rim Trail Association sees the importance of building a strong foundation- in our trails, our community, and young minds. While there are many local and regional youth of the Tahoe Basin that are surrounded by the breathtaking views and diverse wildlife that the 200+ mile Tahoe Rim Trail system provides access to, unfortunately many kids have not had opportunities to engage with the outdoors.  As the primary trail organization in the Tahoe Basin, we are here to change that. People only care for the things that they know about. Our programs aim to familiarize youth with their natural surroundings in the Tahoe Basin, which, for many are their “backyards.” By combining our expertise of outdoor recreation practices and our passion for wilderness ethics, we offer impactful experiential learning opportunities to empower youth in surrounding communities and beyond. Discover how we build the next generation of environmental stewards and leaders below.
