April 22 is EARTH DAY! The theme of this Earth Week is Tahoe VS. Plastic. Will you be a part of the fight?
Our partners and friends, Keep Tahoe Blue are hosting their annual community Earth Day Clean Up on April 22 from 8 AM to 12 PM in South Lake Tahoe.
TRTA will be there to join the fight and you can stop by our booth to learn about volunteer opportunities, our guided hikes, and how to leave no trace on trail.
Sign up:
- Sign up here. You will receive a confirmation from no-reply@galaxydigital.com.
- Final details will be sent a few days prior to the event to those that sign up. If you do not pre-register, you will need to complete a volunteer waiver onsite during event check-in.
- Volunteers under 18 – will need to create a volunteer account and provide a guardian email to complete the waiver online.
- Volunteers under 13 – will need to provide a guardian email to create a volunteer account and complete the waiver online.
Meeting location: In front of Azul Latin Kitchen, at the corner of Lake Tahoe Boulevard and Heavenly Village Way in South Lake Tahoe.
Time: The cleanup will take place from 8 – 11 am, with lunch provided for volunteers from 11 am-noon by Azul Latin Kitchen and Base Camp Pizza Co.
Parking: For the event duration, free parking will be available at Marriot Grand Residence.
Be sure to bring:
- Full reusable water bottle
- Sunscreen
- Cleanup gloves (if you have them)
- Wear layers to protect from the cold and sun: hat, sunglasses, warm clothing and winter shoes
- Any snacks you would like
- Money if you would like to purchase additional food and drink during lunch
The League will provide:
- Cleanup materials (gloves, bags, etc.)
- Gloves/hand sanitizer
- Cool giveaways from Keep Tahoe Blue and our partners
- Light breakfast items
- Light lunch
