Winter Wildlife Nordic Ski with TINS

January 15 @ 10:00 am - 1:00 pm

Cost: Free

Description

Glide through Tahoe’s winter wonderland on skis for a winter excursion hosted by TINS and the TRTA. We will take breaks periodically to learn about Tahoe’s forest ecology and bird migration habits while identifying trees and animals that live amongst the Lodgepole Pines.

Cross country skis and experience are required–the TRTA does not provide skis and guides are not ski instructors. We will travel ~3 miles on a groomed trail by Nevada Nordic. We will go as fast as the slowest member of the group and can make adjustments along the way. Our route will not have steep hills. Sorry, no snowshoers on this adventure, but take a look at our Events Calendar for other opportunities.

What to Expect

TRTA/TINS treks are group treks, and we do our best to keep the group together. All trek leaders dedicate a great deal of their time throughout the year, sharing their passion for the outdoors. They are well-trained and experienced. Please respect their decisions made on the trail.
