Spooner Summit Wildlife Tracking Team – Virtual Training & Field Sessions

Join us for an exciting opportunity to become part of the Spooner Summit Wildlife Tracking Team! Together, we’ll help collect critical data that supports the feasibility case for wildlife and human crossings at Spooner Summit.

Virtual Training (via Microsoft Teams)
📅 Saturday, September 13, 2025
🕘 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM
A recording will be available for those unable to attend live.

Field Day
📅 Sunday, September 14, 2025
🕙 10:00 AM – 3:00 PM

During training, Pathways for Wildlife will guide us in building essential wildlife tracking skills, including:

  • Identifying and documenting wildlife tracks

  • Data gathering through photography, casting, and GPS

  • Best practices for contributing observations to regional research

This is a hands-on way to contribute directly to conservation in the Sierra while gaining new skills in wildlife tracking and data collection.

Additional 2026 Training Dates
For those who can’t attend in September—or who want to continue building their skills—mark your calendars for additional sessions:

  • Saturday, January 17 | 10 AM – 3 PM

  • Saturday, March 28 | 10 AM – 3 PM

  • Saturday, June 20 | 10 AM – 3 PM

Whether you’re brand new to tracking or looking to sharpen your skills, this program is a wonderful way to deepen your connection to the land and make a tangible impact on wildlife conservation.

Please register here as we have limited space and would love to operate in teams for 3-4.
